About the Event
Please join us for this special day of 'just' music with experienced music teacher, as well as Yogi and Kirtan lover, Sangita.Â
Experience Vedic mantra chanting, Kirtan and Dances of Universal Peace, as we explore Bhakti Yoga and the transformative quality of sound & mantra. Be immersed in the art of Kirtan and group music making. Develop skills on harmonium, guitar, ukulele, voice or percussion. Bring your own instrument, or share ours. It will be a wonderful way to celebrate the last retreat for the year.Â

- Be immersed in quality group music making, allowing your innate musical knowledge and understanding to unfold.

For those of you who like to lead kirtan, or would like to practice leading, this is a lovely informal opportunity. Â
All voices and instruments welcome. No experience necessary.
Sangita's Songbook No.1 will be available to purchase for the special price of $25.

WHAT IS KIRTAN?
Kirtan is the music of yoga. It is a style of call and response singing that leads to an opening of the heart. It is a pathway to meditation. The mantra and the music draw us out of our heads and into the heart of silence.Â
WHAT ARE THE DANCES OF UNIVERSAL PEACE?
Simple circle dances woven together with live acoustic music. Participants sing and dance the sacred phrases from different spiritiual traditions of the world. Â It's a group practice, much like kirtan, but embodied through movement.Â
What to bring: Â Yoga mat; blanket, instruments, warm clothes for the mountain
